We have been shocked and disgusted by the supreme court ruling. Alexandra from Trans Stars has a message below. To my trans siblings, in Stroud and beyond. I write this as I also come to terms with what has happened, and what this could mean for yourselves and myself. Like you, my head is a little spun. Many news articles and hypotheses running through my mind and trying to rob me of my senses. I hope you are all taking care of yourselves and keeping safe through this turmoil. With that in mind, I'm here to tell you, in Stroud and across the country, we have community! And with community comes solidarity, understanding, wisdom, resilience and safety! The road to equality has never once been a straight line, and this blind corner may have taken us by surprise, but the hard work carries on. To anyone reading this who is not LGBTQ, or even just not T, we need your voices now more than ever. This backslide of equality will only stop the day that the massess show it won't be accepted. Spread the word, tell friends and family, write to your MPs... tell the world this won't be tolerated. Speak up, or this will continue until they are knocking at your door, for your rights and freedoms. Please, speak up. Alexandra. We would like to also draw your attention to the peaceful protest happening in Cheltenham this weekend.

Do you want to perform at Pride? We are looking for performers for Stroud Pride. Please fill out the performer application on our Linktree https://linktr.ee/Stroud_pride (Also in our bio) Just to note: We will be taking extra care to not allow performers who hold harmful views. Such as LGB views. We will also be reaching out to local performers.

*** Please read this in it's entirely and please share *** Hi all, Alexandra here who runs Trans Stars. There's a lot of talk lately about getting in touch with our CCG if you are currently having a hard time with accessing help between a gender clinic and your GP. I've had a small issue myself recently, and have once again turned to help from the CCG. It's not the first time I've needed to ask them for guidance either. At all times I've found them forthcoming, informative and helpful to their best extent. However this time, something is different. This time they are telling me they are building up a number of closely linked cases. They're telling me of a larger problem that needs a united response to it, to have enough impact to drive for change. And we've all seen it here. We've all panicked and checked if our repeat prescriptions are still running. We've all sent sympathies to our siblings who are being put through hell with healthcare... or rather a lack thereof. So I ask you. For the sake of us all. If you have been given problems by a GP in regards to your shared care... maybe you can't even get your GP to agree to shared care. Maybe you can't get your prescription, or blood tests, or your gender clinic discharged you... Please write to the CCG. Please make it known that we are being failed. They want to help, and they can unite our cases to give them the most impact. You can email them here: glicb.pals@nhs.net We must use what we can to stop things getting worse.

"Honouring Transgender Lives: Stroud Pride's Call to Action on Transgender Day of Remembrance" Every year, on November 20th, the global community comes together to honour and remember the transgender individuals whose lives have been tragically cut short due to violence and transphobia as well as those we've lost whilst on waiting lists for the help they deserved. For us at Stroud Pride, Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDoR) is not just a day of mourning, but a powerful reminder of the resilience and strength within our community. Founded in 1999 by Gwendolyn Ann Smith, TDoR began as a tribute to Rita Hester, a transgender woman who was brutally murdered in Massachusetts. Today, it serves as a vital part of Transgender Awareness Week, which aims to raise awareness and understanding about the issues faced by transgender people. All across the world people are hosting candlelight vigils and sharing the stories of those we've lost, and at Stroud Pride we’re reaffirming our commitment to doing what we can to create a world where everyone can live their truth without fear. This day is a solemn reminder of the ongoing violence and discrimination that transgender people endure, but it's also a call to action for all of us to stand up, speak out, and support our transgender siblings. By remembering their names and telling their stories, we honour their memory and advocate for a future free from hate and prejudice. Join us as we come together to commemorate Transgender Day of Remembrance, to mourn, to remember, and most importantly, to act. Let's make our community a beacon of acceptance and love. In solidarity, Stroud Pride
